As a child, my father took us (mom, 4 kids and a dog) camping to the East Coast every summer by car from the mid 50's to the mid 60's. Even did PEI by ferry one year.
Sometimes we came through Canada to the East, others we came through the NorthEastern States.
In the early 70's I traveled down the East Coast to Florida - a wandering route.
In the late 70's - I planed to Vancouver, bussed down the West Coast to San Diego California, scooted through the deserts (they are hot!) - did a car trip to Vegas, even slipping into Mexico, then drove cross-country back to Canada in 1980.
Yeah, I wander . . .
no regrets.

I know. I'd love to drive that sometime. But I don't drive and am afraid of driving and heights.
