(10,201 posts)37. No. The broadcaster was superimposing based on a 3D map of the field.
It was computers. If you watched the other snow games on a different network, you had no clue where the yard markers were because they did not have the technology in use.
At the sidelines they simply maintain the yardage markers for the officials with good old fashioned snow shovels. In the top pic in the OP, those markers were simply shoveled. Each 10yd and the two center lines up the middle.
