* scientology: "clearing" hang-ups/guilt/negatives that block forging ahead.

* Buddhism: Removing oneself from being enthralled by emotions.

* (Shinto?): Inner holy essence in all things, animate or inanimate.

* Stoicism: Striving for nobility.

Feel free to correct my interpretations.
