i feel like there must be some lingering monkey thing that if a big male is killed, and he has a sick old widow, they chase her off into the jungle. that's the only way to explain the difference in old friends.
even without asking for anything yourself, you still go from a soft touch to a touch ask. and that changes things. or even further, a big debt lurking that they know it is time to pay.

divorce. just pure fun.
