Disability from VA, nobody has a right to make you feel that way. You are not the first to go through loss of support from family. So have I and others on here as well, and I fully understtand how badly those closest to you can hurt you when you need them most. But when you are fighting for your survival, it is time to go into "fuck everybody" mode. You must take care of yourself regardless of their hurtful words. It reminds me of the song "Garden Party". -

"It's all right now,
I've learned my lesson well,
You see, you can't please everyone, so
You got to please yourself"

Things can and will change, and things may well mend with your family as well. Don't throw it away.
