In reply to the discussion: Game of Thrones 6.8 "No One" (spoiler alert) [View all]Solly Mack
(90,762 posts)91. Makes for a cleaner hero, so to speak, for Tyrion's entire character to be downplayed some.
People will cheer his murder of his father, and not count that against him. But they might not cheer him killing some singer for no real good reason.
People also tend to overlook Tyrion's knowledge of Jaime trying to murder Bran. They dismiss his complicity because he is simply being loyal (and people like Tyrion, so it is easier to overlook his transgressions)
Kinda like I can justify almost anything Arya does.
I prefer the shades of grey because most people are a mixture of good and bad, though I have a hard time forgiving certain characters (Theon, for example. Sansa , for another)

Maybe it stars Gendry. Each episode he'll row to a different, interesting place...

Yes, and no. He agreed to marry a Frey daughter as means of sealing the (albeit false) peace.

I'm pretty sure I know what Cersei is planning but I can't help but imagine it'll go badly.

Again, Jaime's loyalty is so misplaced. Cersei, of the books, doesn't love Jaime.

Yes! I wanted that exchange to be in the show. A clean break, as you say. The more removed Tyrion
