They don't want you to get unemployment because it increases their pay-in. "Insubordinate" sounds like a generic excuse to me.

To be honest, the worst thing that could have happened to you would have been to have kept this job and to have wasted years of your life working for those assholes.

I would definitely write the letter to request the reasons you didn't get the second job, though. It's likely that the previous employer screwed you there too.
