8. We got nicked for $650 for an abscessed tooth....

Dec 2011

Took the pooch into our regular vet, where they
failed to diagnose his problem (swollen face,
not eating...duh). They ran a bunch of tests.
They gave us some pain killers
and sent us home. ($200.00)

Later that night, the abscess burst and he started
bleeding. We took him into the emergency vet, where
they had to knock him out to look at the tooth.
After six (6) hours of waiting...After watching sobbing
pet owner after sobbing pet owner walk out with their
little plaster footprint mementos....we brought Sprocket
home with a shit-ton of medications and orders to
"follow-up" with our regular vet in the morning. ($350.00)

Next morning, back to the regular vet to arrange extraction
of the tooth. They also knock him out, and when we pick him
up at the end of the day, tell me that the tooth didn't need
to come out. So basically, the again did nothing.

Okay.

Get to the checkout counter, $200 !

WTF!!! If they had caught the abscess, I would never
have had to visit the emergency vet!

I argued with him for about 10 minutes, after which,
he realized he was going to lose a client with two
dogs and gave me a $100 credit for future treatments.

Which I took.
