(33,527 posts)LOL. Seriously. My husband and I were in NY in January when a huge winter storm was predicted to hit NC--and the entire east coast--just
as we were returning. I literally called a friend at home and asked her to pick up milk and TP for us so we wouldn't have to make a store
stop only to find no milk on the shelves. We had quite a laugh over the request for TP and she bought a 12 pack. (I knew I had put the last roll on in the master bath before we left and had planned to do grocery shopping on return from our trip.)
Fortunately, our plane landed on time and we barely got to the pet resort to pick up the dog before it closed. Then we stopped at the friend's house to get the supplies she picked up for us that morning. By the time we got home, it was sleeting.
We were literally frozen in by snow/ice and unable to get out our driveway for FIVE DAYS! We had power and TP, so we were happy!
Winter Storm Helena dumped a mess of snow and ice in the South on January 6-7.
Helena then dumped a swath of snow along the East Coast from Virginia to southeast Massachusetts.
