8. He can ask a random tailor or craftsman on a random planet to stitch him new earpads from foamed plastic. Takes no longer than 1 hour. A way greater problem is the rubber-isolation around the cables: It will become brittle with age. (Yes, I do own 20yo earpads.)

9. I'm not aware of components that would wear out. Except for the carbon-brushes in the electromotor, but even they can be replaced by a skilled repairman, especially with access to space-technology. (Silicon-based electronics have a lifetime of 10-20 years max, depending on how you store them andsoforth.)
