In reply to the discussion: Current temp at my house: 121.5 [View all]Stuart G
(38,726 posts)33. I have a friend who lives in Yuma AZ...115 quite normal in the summer..BUT
In 1997 , I was visiting him, and we went out into the desert about 15-25 miles from Yuma, can't remember exact mileage, and it was about this time of year....and it was 94 degrees at about 2pm. A couple of local people..who were there, were commenting how cool it was...(cool I thought)...A couple of days later, it was 112 at about the same time....................NOW....I MUST ADD THIS:::::::
I hear from Bob in January, when it is zero in the upper Midwest, near Chicago where I live....and Bob is nice enough to tell me that it is............about............................68 degrees in Yuma.....
SO....it is the good and the bad......ain't it?

The old adage "but it's only dry heat" doesn't apply well above 100 degrees, imo.

I have a tiny house, and it is VERY well insulated. My electric has only gone over

That's too hot. I think I'd pass out if I left the house in that heat. Poor you!

It can come out of the taps boiling hot, so you need to let it run a few seconds.

Only just shy of 100 degrees where I am today in Colorado, but I've felt sick all day...

Probably very dangerous, as I would imagine less homes are air conditioned in Paris
