"Listeners and artists unable to give each other a collective "hug" when John Prine died of COVID-19 last year get an overdue chance to celebrate the late songwriting legend in person this fall.

The Prine family announced Tuesday plans for a week-long tribute to the storyteller that includes Nashville concerts at Ryman Auditorium, Basement East and CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum.

Called “You Got Gold: Celebrating the Life & Songs of John Prine," festivities run Oct. 3-10, culminating on what would've been Prine's 75th birthday.

Confirmed concerts include:

Oct. 6: Ryman Auditorium Oct. 7: Ryman Auditorium Oct. 8: CMA Theater Oct. 9: Basement East

Lineups are yet to be announced, but a news release said each night plans for a unique collection of "friends performing and celebrating the legendary singer, songwriter and performer’s inimitable life and songs." Additional events plan to be announced at a later date. "...(more, including ticket info, at link)
