this is likely first and last time shooting from this vantage [View all]

my grandfather passed away on monday and we just got back to co from ny earlier this evening.

my grandparents lived on the queens side of the east river at the base of the throgs neck bridge and a view of the whitestone from the living room and den. they'd lived there for years, but i never really had a camera. grandma passed in 08 and i hadn't been out there since june 09. i knew i had to take the camera this time because i don't know that i'll ever have this sort of opportunity again.

he was a photographer and it spread through the family and i feel this is an appropriate final tribute to him.

always with the planes

i sat by the river by myself for a bit and i am so happy i noticed this
