18. I used a Nikon Coolpix S9900 that I've had for a couple of years.

It was on a fully automatic macro setting. I didn't feel like digging out a tripod and the butterflies were moving all around, so I just shot a bunch of photos handheld. I think I just got incredibly lucky with this shot.

I looked at the image data and it was shot at 1/320 sec, f6.3, 40.9 mm.

I tweaked the exposure a little with Corel PaintShop and cropped the image a little to better center the butterfly, but that's about it.

Here's another photo I took yesterday as well. The flowers (lantana) in the background of this photo attract a lot of butterflies as well as hummingbirds. I keep promising myself to try to get a shot of hummingbird someday but I've never had my camera handy when one shows up.
