3. Let me try to help. This is a function of how DU works, not a contest thing.

I am using IMGUR.com. My use is not an endorsement, but the simplest way for me to instruct others.

Go to Imgur.com click on 'sign up' and follow directions (it's free).

Once creating an account, log in. You'll be taken to the home page with your user name in the upper right corner. Click on that. Scroll down to 'images', click there.

Now there should be an 'add images' bar in the upper right corner. Click that and the new page should say 'browse or drag images here". I know where my pics are stored, so I use browse. I can see thumbnails and double click on my choice which uploads it.

Once uploaded you can click on the image and it opens in it's own window. Bottom right corner has 'edit image'. Click on that and in the top right corner of the pic is the size, change the largest dimension to 1024, click elsewhere on the image then 'save'.

Open the pic again and on the right side is a menu. Second option down is 'Direct Link'. Click that and then open a reply to the contest thread in DU, do a ctrl V and the link is pasted in. Double check by using the preview function. If it's good, post reply and you're done.

Sounds complicated when explained this way, but once you get used to it you'll be done in less than a minute.
