16. Dish is complaining that channels like AMC want more money and they're not willing to renegotiate

Of course it never occurs to them to give us a rebate on our monthly fee if we're getting less and less of what we originally signed up for. Not only are the movie channels spending less and less to give us mediocre movies, but the introduction of new channels like EPIX is adding another layer of expenditure for the consumer. Previously, movies would spend up to a year to get to cable, from the theater, to pay-per-view, to a cable movie channel. But channels like EPIX have been added that show these movies and keep them from the regular cable packages for a longer period of time. Not only are the channels like AMC and Sundance being withdrawn unless the customer pays more, but the product is being withdrawn unless the customer pays extra for new channels like EPIX. Meanwhile, the bill never gets reduced, despite the reduction in programming and programming quality.
