2. I gave up on HBO ages ago.

Yes, they do produce some great shows. Problem is they have a history of cancelling those shows right out from under the fans. eg Deadwood, Carnivale After that I figured it's not worth it to invest the time and money to get interested in a show knowing there is a good chance it will disappear without a proper ending/resolution. It sounds like HBO hasn't changed that policy.
