14. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was cut, due to ads

Either ABC or CBS showed the holiday classic in 2014, and viewers complained that some scenes were cut. It probably had to do with getting all the ads in.
But you're right, some shows have a run of ads during the break that go on for several minutes. I find myself losing patience, and switching channels. What's happening more often, are ads being placed on screen during the show. Quite often the ads will block out the credits (actor/director names), it's irritating!
