California Underfunds Infrastructure [View all]

May 27, 2015 (San Diego) We need freeways to move goods, services and people across the state. These are the most obvious pieces of infrastructure the State of California has.

The State of California releases every year a five-year plan, which is a long view of what are the infrastructure needs of the state. You can read the 2015 version here.

This report is a direct consequence of the 1999 California Infrastructure Planning Act. This requires the Governor to submit a five-year planning document with the budget.

The planning guidelines require “infrastructure planning priorities to promote equity, strengthen the economy, protect the environment, and promote public health and safety.

Misery loves company and every citizen should go though these reports.
