you should check out upstate South Carolina, cheaper than any place in Florida I believe

cost of living is rock bottom and quality of life is quite high overall, the economy is relatively decent and if you're minded to you can spend the rest of your life exploring some of the most beautiful natural environment this country has to offer

it's also a very good place for the long term as this will be one of the last places in the world to have a water shortage
