Corporations and the filthy rich have been making money and profits off of underpaying women for centuries. Their labor can be had for so much less.

That's why the filthy rich promote racism, sexism, antisemitism and mysogamy. Because they can abuse those who are considered inferior and make a profit off them. That's why the Victorians had an army of children working in their factories.
