others report the same. Will try it again tomorrow. And the further instructions I'll also have to read tomorrow. Thank you for the help.

I'm not even sure that I have IE8? Microsoft cut XP users off from updates to IE I think more than a year or so ago. Not sure what number we were up to at the time. But actually I'm using Safari, not IE. Tho IE is always running it seems as the default browser. There's no way to shut it off.
