They have some free ones. Peggle and Peggle Nights are fun games, but I'm not sure if they're still free or if you have to pay a small fee.

Does he have access to an iPad or an iPhone? If so, Link Bridge is fun (there are 4 or 5 of them - Link Bridge, Hexic Flow...) There is also a game called Dots. Easy to play and get addicted to. They're free, so you can play offline. If he likes word games, Virble is fun.
