If you are not with them in their great endeavor, you are against them. Of course they don't need to have the first fucking clue about anything else.

They also are sadly lacking in empathy and given to villification so that they really do not consider, much less care, that those who disagree with them are people with opinions, rights, and needs, and especially a need to be protected from them.

My guess is Senator Boxer has collided with them a bunch of times over the decades. So peculiarly, they seem to feel the most enmity toward liberals and the Democratic Party, who would seem closer to them ideologically than toward those on the right.
