Hard to understand this behavior. Sanders strikes me as someone who has run for president out of a desire to achieve a social and political agenda, rather than out of egotistical ambition. In that sense, he seems the absolute opposite of The Donald, who has no apparent political perspective or agenda, and for whom the only thing that matters is becoming president - it all about ego.
Sanders spent what - close to two decades? - in Congress without much display of ego. Now, having accomplished far more than anyone thought he could, it seems as though Sanders is feeling a bit full of himself and his ego has risen to the top. Too bad, he may blow all that he has managed to accomplish.

It makes one weep! I supported Bernie's positions, sent him money and voted for him in the primary to make a statement and to see if the democratic electorate could rally behind his grand positions. My goal was to show future democratic politicians that progressive values have currency and determine just how deep the support is.
Now this, an apparent demonstration that progressives reject compromise, a key feature in successful governance, and would rather loose big than make incremental progress. Why must they see any deviation from revealed truth as apostasy? It is clear the American electorate is not ready for Bernie, but wise politics at this point could have prepared the country to better deal with the powerful negative forces that loom.
