18. If polls predicted winners then why did Hillary lose in 2008?
Tue Oct 6, 2015, 03:49 PM
Oct 2015

In September 2007 approx 16 weeks before Iowa Caucus Hillary held a 41.8 to 23 lead over Barack.
In November 2007 approx eight weeks before the Iowa Caucus Hillary increased that lead to 46 to 23 over Barack.
Jan 1, 2008 two days before the Iowa Caucus Hillary led 44.2 to 25 over Barack.

How did she not win the primary if as you seem to indicate it's all about leading in the polls?

Polls are about name recognition and Polls are nation wide. What matters is who's leading in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Iowa Poll Oct, 2015 with Biden / without Biden
Clinton 33, Sanders 28, Biden 22 / Clinton 47, Sanders 36

New Hampshire Sept, 2015
Sanders 42, Clinton 28, Biden 18
Note that in June, 2015 Clinton was leading Sanders by nearly 20 points and after 3 months Sanders now holds a 14 point lead.

The more people see and hear Bernie the more he moves up in the polls.
