but have colonized other holidays as well.

My personal philosophy is that there is never a time when tamales aren't appropriate. My watercolor class is having them for our Thanksgiving party/critique tomorrow.

Fortunately, my city has a couple of excellent tamaleras that make them year round, and a vegetarian restaurant sells a delicious version with cheese and spinach. (Sounds odd but tastes divine.)
