5. I'm confident that Hillary Rodham Clinton can and will win, and will have serious coattails.

This can't be repeated enough. The real "Democratic Party" knows that we can't afford a McGovern size loss because it will put the courts, both houses of Congress, and the Oval Office in the hands of some of the wackiest mf'ers I've ever had the misfortune to know.

Real "democrats" have little use for the NorquistDogLake types, the Naderites, the Putin pushers, and the left-o-sphere which have increasingly become irrelevant to me as a "Democrat". These are not the folks with whom to build a lasting coalition. They are much too easily "disillusioned", and tend to turn on a dime.

When you hear fellow "Democrats" using the term "holding their feet to the fire", run like hell. The Obama presidency has taught me much.
