I do not care who my friends here support in the primary because I trust my friends and we all understand clearly that in spite of disagreements on our choices in the primary, we all have to stand together in November or we are all likely to lose!
Too many people are looking for the magic pony, and if they don't get their magic pony they are going to take their toys to their room and not play anymore.
They are partially correct. We all want our magic pony. The deal is that I have been politically active since I was a precinct delegate for McGovern in 1972. And I learned pretty damned quickly that there are no magic ponies. Yet every four years I still strive to get that same damned magic pony. It is what pushes us ALL forward, often in the face of crushing adversity.
It is that optimism that pushes us forward, to work hard for our political goals.
Let us all not forget that optimism.
My best to you all. May the best candidate win so that we can put our best face forward in November.
Then, we are going to pound the fucking shit out of the GOP. At minimum we have the White House and the Senate if we stay united. But we also have lots of work to do on those state houses and the US House. And let's turn around some of these governorships which cannot be Gerrymandered.
As Major Kong once said: "Let's get er on the hump! We've got some flying to do." (Dr. Strangelove allusion -- sorry!)
As always, my best.
