We admire Sanders’ values and blunt-speaking sincerity. But we believe Clinton the better choice for the presidency. For more than 25 years in the spotlight, she has advocated for health care and women’s rights while fending off ceaseless attacks going back to Whitewater. Having been First Lady, senator and Secretary of State, she is by far the best-prepared and most knowledgeable candidate in the 2016 field.

We understand that many voters see Clinton as untrustworthy. We believe that to be an unfair characterization. True, she often comes across as overly scripted and cautious — but those are the scars of battle. Those battles have also shown her resilience.

Her priorities now are the right ones: easing taxes for the middle class while raising taxes for the very wealthy; closing corporate tax loopholes; creating jobs by investing in infrastructure, clean energy and scientific research; cutting the cost of college.

We trust her to make Supreme Court picks who will protect abortion access, preserve voting rights and curb campaign spending.

We urge Florida Democrats to give Hillary Clinton the victory in Tuesday’s primary.
