41. Hmm...

So I have to pay for increased chances of fairer juries?
Does that sound right to anyone?

Paying (the admin) for better chances seems like a poor
repair for a gamey jury system (which the admin should
just fix). I know, "but you don't have to be here." I don't.
I'm just pointing out that I certainly wouldn't want to pay
a site that (however it came about) preferences exposure
of those factions/ideas/people that shell out more money.
It's...well it's antithetical to the values we supposedly hold.

To be clear, I don't think the star member thing is as big a
contributor to the climate here as the fact that whole
hide/jury system snowballs when groups of people are
involved. The groups with less numbers will ultimately be
forced out, since each hide makes it that much more
likely for an even more biased jury next time. I think that
has been the main driving force. Alerts should be
transparent (right to know your accuser) and juries
should have some form of transparency too. Perhaps just
a list of "These were the seven people on the jury."
It doesn't have to say who went which way.

I'm sure there's problems with some of those ideas, but
hey, at least I'm thinking.
