Argentina is serious fucked up right now. The government is failing and looking for any bright shiny object to distract the people, like the Falklands.

The ship being impounded was due to non-payment of bonds. When Argentina restructured its debt and forced a haircut on its creditors, some did not go along. Those creditors had the ship seized. It was later released by the courts. Argentina is currently in court over that debt. It looks like they are not going to pay it, setting the stage for more financial crisis.

Kirchner is barely holding on using very nationalistic themes, but that will not keep her in power when the people are hungry.
