A disgraced Colombian police general, recently sentenced to 13 years in a U.S. prison, could face 30 more years after new evidence comes to light, local media reported on Tuesday.

Mauricio Santoyo, who was convicted of providing secret information to the now defunct rght-wing paramilitary group, AUC, was originally given a 13-year sentence, however, it was cut down to ten after he agreed to cooperate with authorities.

According to local media, representatives of victims of the retired general's actions claim they have new evidence linking Santoyo to crimes he has not been charged with.

If Santoyo is prosecuted he will face charges of illegal detention, unjust enrichment and forced disappearances, which could earn him another 30 years in prison for crimes against humanity.
