Sorry to admit I never saw him without Bruce Springsteen, then saw him in the Sopranos. This is a whole new, very large dimension. I'm going to look in YouTube for more of his work, now. I saw a couple of titles after this song was over, and they were so good before I knew he did them, too!
He is a phenomenon, and he's not wrong to use the word, "soul" at all. He's far more a people person than ordinary musicians, too, invests far more of himself, along with his amazing skills.
Well, you've opened up a whole experience for those of us who didn't know what we had been missing.
I love that he shared what he apparently noticed long ago about corruption and politics! What a treat to see him spreading the news to a lot of people who haven't taken the time to wake up, yet!
