Steven is an old school hardcore liberal from way back, and he’s never been afraid to speak, or sing, his mind. He’s also an expert on American culture and music. Google on “Little Steven’s Underground Garage” to find his podcasts, which are also broadcast on his Sirius radio channel. The man is a true intellectual.

More? Okay, one more. Imagine you’re not by definition a reggae artist, but you record a reggae song, and an internationally famous reggae band sees fit to cover it. Quite a compliment, no? Here’s Steven’s song “Solidarity.”

The song was then covered by Black Uhuru, which was at the time about the biggest reggae band in the world. This was the incarnation of the band with Sly and Robbie. It was a big hit for them.

So happy to turn someone new on to the greatness that is Little Steven Van Zandt.
