(5,591 posts)11. Research in Israel led to the drug Keytruda
Keytruda medicine which completely changes the approach to cancer treatment.
Recent research in Israel, led by Prof. Jacob Schachter (Head of EllaInstitute, melanoma treatment and research, Sheba medical center, Tel Hashomer) successfully resulted in melanoma treatment. The drug, which has helped 50% of patients with metastatic melanoma with minimum side effects (in September 2014), was approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Administration of America (FDA), under the accelerated procedure. Many experts suggest that this drug can lead to a real breakthrough in the treatment of cancer.
