4. I'm afraid they're dragging it out

I have been a huge fan of the original British HoC for ages and realize that the US version has to have it's own 'flavor'. I thought the first two seasons were pretty good but now I think they've stretched it all too thin. Too many story lines--Frank, Claire, Stamper, now the women running for president against Frank, Claire being Sec of State, Frank's ambiguous sexuality..... just too much imo. Like they're trying to throw in something for all demographics.

In the original version it was just about FU's working his way to the top. There was some background storyline about other characters that he manipulated but it didn't take up so much of the series. He was also a murderer but to me it was more sinister and shocking vs the US version. I feel like Underwood is more of a blatant creepy rat where Urquhart is more sly and Machiavellian.

I have to say that when the final episode of the new series ended, I really didn't even care what happens to Frank and Claire. I will probably still watch at least the start of season 4 but won't be surprised if it loses me pretty quick. (I just read an article that said Spacey thinks the series can go for 12 seasons!! No, just no! And I say that as a Spacey fan.)
