good trainers know how to use them.
unless they are talking about the bark collars. those are just abusive, and used by the kind of ppl who shouldnt have dogs.

they prolly only sold shitty ones anyway. but i have a dog that i was ready to give up on. i got him a GOOD collar from leerburg, and sent him to a pro trainer to get him started.
he just was not getting verbal commands, esp the word no.
a good collar can give a zap, strong enough to stop a dog in full freak out. but it also give a variable tingle that works like a warning. and buzz w no shock that says yes when they get it right.

turned him around and i have never had a better, smarter dog. he is an almost supernatural guardian.

animal rights ppl make me nuts.
