(528 posts)65. So sad to have to say good-bye to your babies this way.
Over 50 years we have rescued 11 cats and four dogs from the streets. Most of them have lived long lives 15 to 18 years. A few we lost early to cancers/disease. We also have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. We have always called our cats and dogs their brothers and sisters. It is so hard to lose a little friend who expressed love to you. I still expect or last dog, who has been gone for three years, to put her nose through the fence when we come home and do the dance of joy. I am so sorry for your lose.
