having never carried either way, but I like legal open carry for one main reason -- it ensures that somebody carrying a gun with no criminal intent is not breaking the law when he inadvertently displays part of it, or when he is adjusting his clothes. If it would be legal to just wear it openly, there's no question of whether it's legal to accidentally display the butt of his gun when he's reaching up over his head at the grocery store.
