They take the serial number of the gun to the manufacturer and get the name of the distributor. Then they got to the distributor and find out what FFL the gun went to. Then the go to that FFL and rummage through his bo es) of Forms 4473 to get your name, driver's license number and other pertinent information.

THEN...
(and here's the part you'll really enjoy)

THEN they show up at YOUR door and start asking you ALL SORTS of wonderful questions! YAY!!!
