(12,471 posts)When I was at Bernie's kickoff rally in Burlington, I saw people of all colors. Yes there weren't as many non-white people as I would have like to have seen, but they were there. I didn't see a problem when I went up, and introduced myself to both a hispanic and an African American woman, and man, and started to talk about Bernie.
Oh, and the price of admission was the same. Free, including free Ben and Jerry's ice cream.
So please don't paint us all with the same brush. I understand and feel for the crap that is being done to the portion of our human family that simply has more skin pigment than the dominant people in power. I was treated similarly back in the days when you might have called me a hippie. And I have lived in the projects in Brooklyn. I know what it is like being poor. I got beaten up by people of color when I was one of the few white kids in the neighborhood, but I still have many black, brown, red, yellow, and other friends.
So again, please don't paint us all with the same brush.
Thanks.
