(32,324 posts)The African American community continues to believe the fairy tale version of Mr Obama, despite the fact that most lower income people of color bore the brunt of the twelve million foreclosures, and the fact that the "economic growth" that is considered to be the pinnacle achievement of the Obama Administration pretty much excludes much economic advancement for people of color.
The "economic growth" over the past three years is centered in two places: a huge uptick in low wage service jobs, and a huge spike in income for those at the high end of the economic spectrum. The middle class, for the most part, is still struggling.
The American dream is dying. And when the $hit really hits the fan over the next few years, with cars and trucks that drive themselves putting some 250 million people across the globe out of work, it will be dead and stick a fork in it.
On edit:
But since the lower middle class Democratic "base" is very loyal to Mr Obama, perhaps Sanders is hurting his chances. But on the other hand, as it is the independent voters that decide who wins the WH, and so maybe Sander does know what he is doing.
