(25,348 posts)40. I suppose my understanding or misunderstanding of the first scene is this: The lady was empathetic..
...with the other girl. For that she gets made fun of...for being empathetic...even if it was out of place and perceived as the wrong thing to do. That's just being rude and nasty. The lady whos hair was touched was very polite to the other lady...and that's cool but the audience was making fun of the lady who spoke up.
I may explain certain things to people who are "just trying to help" (even if it's uncalled for..but I don't make fun of them.
