(110,255 posts)47. She was one of the very first group of 27 women to graduate from Yale law school.
She could have written her own ticket after that, hopped on the partnership track to a lucrative corporate job in NYC or anywhere.
But what did she do instead? She went on to study children's law and to work for the Children's Defense League, under Marian Edelman. An African American woman.
And then she went with Bill to Arkansas where she helped pay the bills because their $32K salary from his job as Governor only went so far.
As First Lady, she did her best to get a healthcare bill passed through Congress that would have been more progressive than what we were finally able to pass under President Obama.
She has spent her entire life devoted to civil rights, health, and children's issues.
Which shows how little you know.

I think commemorating Ms. Rosa is great. But I agree that putting her on a logo is tasteless
