IMO, activists move the window, not politicians. Find effective local activist organizations who focus on racial justice and voting rights. Give money AND time to them.

The media can move the window too. Coates has been absolutely BRILLIANT. Were all talking about this now, right?

YOU can help move the window too, by learning AA history and policy so you can advocate for better policy on the local level. Read black authors and subscribe to black owned media outlets, then post, tweet and discuss to give black voices more amplification.

I have been recommending White Like Me by Tim Wise as a good primer for white people who want to get in touch with their own privilege. Someone in this forum, I forget who, recommended it to me many years ago, and I found it very helpful. Perhaps others can make some reading recommendations as well.
