15. More damning than the bountygate evidence where players eventually admitted to their activities?

None of those players actually served a year suspension and the only guy who got one (Vilma) ended up playing 11 of the 16 games that season.

Look, I'm not saying Brady is innocent. I'm not even saying the league isn't going to punish him, but do you really believe the nfl will suspend one of their biggest starts for a FULL SEASON based on something they couldn't even prove after 4 months of investigation? Such a penalty for something they couldn't even prove is going to cause serious issues with the players union, which is not something the NFL wants. And do you think that if the NFL suspends someone for a full season for PROBABLE ball deflation after suspending a guy who admitted to beating his wife for TWO games, and suspending guys who were caught and admitted to a cash bounty system for 6 games or less?

I'm sure the NFL will come down with harsh penalties on the Patriots for "institutional failure", despite the fact that the report doesn't seem to implicate any of the Pats upper management, but the idea that Brady will sit an entire season isn't based in reality.

They're going to suspend someone for a season because after 4 months of investigation hughee99 May 2015 #8
Yeah, like the coaches that encouraged players to injure other players. Goblinmonger May 2015 #9
This isn't coaches, it's players. None of the players actively involved in the bounty scandal hughee99 May 2015 #11

I said 2 games. trumad May 2015 #18
Two games seems about right. It's long enough that the league makes a point, and short enough hughee99 May 2015 #20
Take 'em off. trotsky May 2015 #14
We'll see. I'm saying there's no way Brady will sit for the entire season on suspension. hughee99 May 2015 #16
Oh I'm in complete agreement with you. I'm sure he'll barely get a slap on the wrist. trotsky May 2015 #17
Well shit. I'm not sure what he deserves, but there's no way he'll get a season long suspension. hughee99 May 2015 #19
Yes, I really do think a lifetime ban would be appropriate. trotsky May 2015 #21
Fair enough. If you have an issue with these other penalties as well, it's certainly consistent. hughee99 May 2015 #22
