But I do still believe, or at least hope, that Lemond was clean. Still, even in a dirty world, Lance is scum.

And, I have to admit, the fact that I have a nice bike doesn't mean I can actually ride. I live in NYC now, so mostly I just do laps around central park, hoping not to be stopped by the cops for speeding or running red lights (red lights in a park?), which they crack down on from time to time after some idiot runs over a pedestrian or else when Bono gets into an accident. Every now and then I do a longer ride, and there really are some beautiful ones once you get out of the city.

Still, internet trash talk aside, I have no doubt that you'd drop me like a bad habit as soon as the grade reached 1%. I ride a cyclocross bike, used to do some mild offroad stuff and thought the cross bike was a good compromise, but not anymore, put road tires on it which makes it a good enough road bike for me. If I really wanted to cut down the weight and aerodynamic profile, the solution would be to drink less Guinness, not spend $10K on a bike.
