Knicks’ Shooting Star Gets Dose of Humility [View all]

Miami Gives Lin a Rough Time as Heat Beat Knicks

<snip>

"The next phase of Jeremy Lin’s N.B.A. education began Thursday night, under a deafening din, amid a sea of black jerseys that seemed to blanket every inch of floorboard at American Airlines Arena.

The Miami Heat did not just guard Lin. They attacked, swarmed and engulfed him, turning the Knicks’ point-guard sensation into a flustered mess. In the final game before the All-Star break, the Heat demonstrated the full extent of its superstar powers at both ends of the court and routed the Knicks, 102-88.

Lin, unable to find much room to operate or any steady rhythm, had his worst game since his fairy-tale run began three weeks ago. He finished as many turnovers as points (8) and only three assists and went 1 for 11 from the field as the Knicks (17-18) slipped below .500 again."
