In reply to the discussion: My neighbor has cats [View all]Botany
(70,490 posts)20. Feral Cats are an ecological hammer .... even declawed ones (which is cruel)
They kill snakes, toads, salamanders, birds, insects, mammals, pollinators, and invertebrates
by the truck load. People are not doing any favors when they catch, have them fixed, and then
release them because their hunting instinct is so strong and so they kill and kill and kill.
Outdoor cats don't live very long and they have a very hard life so please keep your kitties inside.

Maybe, but I did surprise two cats while they were feasting on garbage a few days ago

We have ferrel cats, therefore no birds or squirrels. I'm afraid of them to try to trap them.

My dog weighs a whole 6 pounds and the cats just look at her and don't move a muscle :)
